First Lady's Agriculture Awareness Poultry Project
We are delighted to announce a joint FFA and 4-H project opportunity. The Governor and First Lady of Georgia are committed to raising agriculture awareness. Mrs. Kemp has asked us to carry out a contest that will inform plans for an educational and agricultural awareness poultry project at the Governor’s Mansion. Specifically, Mrs. Kemp invites Georgia 4-H and FFA members to provide input and ideas that will influence the design of housing and selection of hens for a flock to be placed on the property at the Georgia Governor’s Mansion. The contest details are attached. We appreciate the support of the Georgia Poultry Federation in providing funds for recognition. The overall winning submission will receive a $1,000 grant to support their local programs. The second and third place entries will each receive $500 to support their programs. All teams entering the contest will be invited to the Governor’s Mansion for a picnic gathering and opportunity to hear plans for the project. Click here for more information and how to enter!
